How to Put VELOSOCK Bike Cover on Your Bike, and Other Things You Should Know

The VELOSOCK  Full Bike Cover  is specifically designed for bike transportation on car trunk racks, as well as for long-term storage indoors, in a garage or on a closed balcony. But it might also turn heads on the road if it’s as bold and vibrant as our Motion Wave cover.

In comparison to the indoor bike cover, the full bike cover envelopes the entire bike, from tires to handles, that way providing full protection of your bike during transportation and while in storage.

Besides using VELOSOCK for bike storage and transportation, you can use both types of covers when taking your bike into your hotel room (or other public places).

The answer depends on the type of VELOSOCK cover you choose:

• The Indoor Bike Cover is not waterproof —and that’s intentional. If you bring a wet bike inside, a breathable fabric helps it dry faster, preventing trapped moisture and reducing the buildup of mold or rust.
  
  

• The Full Bike Cover is water-repellent , meaning it can resist water penetration but isn’t 100% waterproof. It’s designed to protect your bike from sand, small stones, road salt, and dirt during transportation, and its breathable fabric allows it to dry quickly if caught in the rain. But it also has a waterproof variant, ensuring that your bike stays completely dry even in heavy rain or wet conditions.

The Waterproof Full Bike Cover is the best choice for outdoor storage in rainy or snowy conditions. It’s ideal for cyclists who frequently travel, since it provides maximum protection against water, mud, moisture and other elements.

Additionally, VELOSOCK covers are a great solution for hotels and public spaces. Many hotels prohibit bikes in rooms due to the risk of dirt and damage, but a covered bike is often allowed since it won’t leave marks on the floor or furniture.

• Indoor Bike Covers: Fit 99% of adult bikes thanks to their stretchy, durable fabric. They accommodate tire widths of 26 to 29 inches and bikes up to 1.90 m in length . For larger bikes, an L/XL size is available, fitting lengths from 1.95 m to 2.15 m .

• Full Bike Covers: Designed for specific bike models. The key difference lies in the handlebar cut.

Proper measurement is crucial—measure your bike’s total length from the outermost points of both wheels.

Also, please note that if your bike has carriers above the rear or front wheel, it may be an obstacle in ensuring perfect fit.

We don’t recommend using the VELOSOCK Full Bike Cover on a rooftop bike rack due to aerodynamic concerns. The cover creates extra wind resistance, which could destabilize your bike and pose safety risks.

Yes! While the fit may be a bit looser without a front wheel, the cover will still effectively contain dirt and protect your surroundings.

The VELOSOCK Full Bike Cover is compatible with most rear car bike racks . The smartly placed openings allow access to the frame and wheels for secure attachment. However, we highly recommend using 3-point fixation rear car bike racks for the best stability.

Indoor Bike Cover Instructions:

1. Place the front wheel of your bike inside the VELOSOCK.

2. Place your foot inside the VELOSOCK. With the aid of your foot, pull the cover back, up and around the pedals and the back wheel.

3. With your hands gently pull the VELOSOCK over the back wheel.

Full Bike Cover Instructions:

1. Open the zipper that runs along the top of the cover and place the front wheel in the cover.

2. Lift the cover up and place the handlebars in the corresponding pockets. Start to close the zipper.

3. Place the rear wheel of your bike in the cover.

4. Lift the cover up to the seat and close the zipper.

And that’s it—your bike is now stylishly protected!
