TOP 5 APPS every cyclist should have
We created this list to combine the best of different aspects of cycling - weather forecast, safety and first aid, some cycling routes and training, shopping and others!
There are so many useful and great apps you can use to ease up your cycling routine. Clearly, Strava app is the starter kit of every cyclist, so we left this one out of the list, but reviewed some other, maybe unheard, but great apps!
1.CYCLEMETER
Cyclemeter is the most advanced application for cyclists ever designed for a mobile device. It makes your phone a powerful fitness computer — with maps, graphs, splits, intervals, laps, announcements, zones, training plans, live tracking, social posting, and more.
Some say this app is more powerful than a bike computer!
It includes a calendar where you can track your rides, and find out when you need to schedule a workout in. It can be a really motivating tool to view how regularly you’ve been cycling and what your scores are.
Cyclemeter has encouraging announcements to motivate you during your ride, so you can maintain your focus and feel like you have your very own supporter.
It also includes a lot of free useful data such as maps, split intervals, and bar and pie charts to summarize your cycling workouts to ensure that you are monitoring your progress.

2.RAIN ALARM
As a cyclist you’re most probably always worried about the weather and trying to check the forecast as often as possible before going on a long ride. Clearly, weather is something we can’t predict 100 percently, but “Rain Alarm” is one of the most precise apps for weather forecasts.
German quality, so to speak, since the app is made in Germany. This weather app alerts you when rain is approaching. The alerts are a reliable short-term forecast based on near real-time data. This app is more precise and reliable than a traditional forecast.
It is very useful for all outdoor activities – including cycling, motorcycling, hiking, gardening, BBQs, picnics, dog walking, etc.

3.FIRST AID FOR CYCLISTS
St John Ambulance is determined that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it.
This app includes the latest first aid advice and protocols for dealing with emergency situations. It is simple to follow with illustrated guides and voiced instructions. It contains easy-to-follow advice for a range of first aid scenarios including CPR, choking and allergic reactions.
The app doesn’t replace the benefits of learning first aid on a St John Ambulance course, nor is it as in-depth as a full first aid manual. But when there is an emergency, it will help you to know what to do in those few crucial moments when basic knowledge of first aid can make the difference.

5.ROUVY
Rouvy is an indoor cycling app that allows you to get a real-life feeling of riding outdoors and will keep you entertained along your training. The app uses real-life routes so you can travel with your bike without leaving home (perfect for busy riders). Want to take a stroll through the scenic Dolomites or maybe a quick ride through Tuscany? You got it!
Unlike Zwift, which simulates virtual worlds and roads, Rouvy uses video recordings of real roads and combines them with elevation data to provide an interactive riding experience. On certain courses, the app can also generate animated 3D riders.
Beyond augmented reality, there are also – at the time of writing – approximately 2,036,020km of route films to ‘ride’ on, which should keep you entertained for several lifetimes.
The app is available for iOS and Android, as well as for PCs, Apple TV and more, costs around 8$ per month.

Clearly, there are many other great apps that have been left out of the list, but we hope these could be helpful for you to save time, gain better results and predict the weather for your training, as well as keep you entertained when you stay home and decide to do indoor training!
