How to choose a bike cover for bike racks
The guide, in short
Three questions decide the right Velosock cover: how many bikes you carry, what handlebars they have, and what weather they face on the road.
1. Count the bikes
Each cover fits one bike. Two bikes on the rack means two covers.
2. Pick your bike type — it is set by the handlebars
- Road — drop bars (road and gravel bikes). Fits frames up to 1.90 m in overall length.
- MTB / E-Bike — flat bars (mountain bikes, hybrids, e-MTBs, e-cruisers). Fits frames up to 2.05 m.
- Triathlon — aero bars (TT and triathlon bikes). Fits frames up to 2.05 m.

3. Pick the fabric for your weather
- Standard — lightweight stretch fabric for dust and dry dirt. Best for storage and dry-weather trips.
- Water-Repellent — handles light rain, road spray and salt. Breathable and quick-drying.
- Waterproof — three-layer fully waterproof fabric with army-grade waterproof zippers. The highest level of protection against rain, snow and dust.
Which racks work
Multiple zippers let rack arms and straps pass through, so the cover works on rear-mounted towbar, hitch and platform racks, and on bikes carried inside a car, van or camper. Roof-mounted racks are not recommended. Always follow your vehicle and rack manufacturer's instructions, and observe speed limits and traffic regulations.
